HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!

Today is the day that we celebrate our mommies, and I have the best one! She did so much for me growing up, whether it was making me a donut costume in Kindergarten or making me wear a homemade nurses hat for my fifth grade "Tea at the White House" program (I was Florence Nightengale...

Whether she was braiding our hair...

Or making sure our hair was curled (and I mean REALLY curled)...

Or crying with me after my first heartbreak, or crying with me when I married my eternal companion...

She was always there for me. I love you so much mom! HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!

Here is a quote from one of my favorite General Authorities Jeffery R. Holland. It covers all mothers, whether you are classic term of Mother, or you are struggling to bring a life into this world. Whether you have a partner to help you raise your children, or you are raising them yourself due to divorce, death, or deployment, this should bring comfort to everyone...

"Because She Is a Mother"
Jeffery R. Holland
Ensign April 1997

"The work of a mother is hard, too often unheralded work.

"Mothers go longer on less sleep and give more to others with less personal renewal for themselves than any other group I know.

"Mothers, we acknowledge and esteem your faith in every footstep. Please know that it is worth it then, now, and forever. And if, for whatever reason, you are making this courageous effort alone, without your husband at your side, then our prayers will be all the greater for you, and our determination to lend a helping hand even more resolute."

"To the woman within the sound of my voice who dearly want to be mothers and are not, I say through your tears and ours on that subject, God will yet, in days that lie somewhere ahead, bring "hop to the desolate heart." As prophets have repeatedly taught from this pulpit, ultimately "no blessing shall be withheld" from the faithful, even if thouse blessings do not come immediately,. In the meantime we rejoice that the call to nurture is not limited to our own flesh and blood."

"Rely on Him. Rely on Him heavily. Rely on Him forever. And "press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfet brightness of hope." You are doing God's work. You are doing it wonderfully well. He is blessing you and He will belss you, even--no especially--when your days and your nights may be the most challenging."

Tomorrow, I will post pics of the CUTE things my kids made ME! But this day is set aside for me to celebrate MY mom, not myself!

Until tomorrow peeps!

  1. I agree you do have an amazing mom! I remember when Brandon and I lived with you guys for a while when Reggie was in the hospital. Every morning you girls were up at the crack of dawn so your mom could comb your hair before school. Our mom's truly are the greatest, we must have done something right to be blessed with these amazing women to raise us!

  3. Krista, I think your mom is AWESOME!! I may not be one of the six kids but I feel like one of you guys! Your mom has always made me feel special and I have always loved spending time at the Moore house. Whether it was eating Bonnies Cookie desert or sloppy joes, or gathering eggs from the chickens. One of the things I have loved the most is the times your mom and dad have invited me along on elk hunting trips. Sitting in camp around the campfire telling stories and listening to coyotes howl, or going on long 4 wheeler rides and having your mom pull over and open up their cooler and share a diet coke and grapes. And lastly having your mom there to help with delivery of 2 out of my 3 kids and knowing my newborn kids are in good hands with Aunt Bonnie taking care of us!!! Love you Aunt Bonnie, Happy Mothers Day! :)
